What’s new in Passcovery Suite 3.6:

  • Accelerated speed of password recovery on GPUs (especially NVIDIA) due to extra optimization of execution kernels of all GPUs
  • Compatibility with Tesla V100, GeForce RTX 20x0 and AMD Vega due to newly-added executive kernels for GPU
  • Improved implementation of the SHA-512 hashing algorithm. That allowed to boost the speed to recover passwords of Microsoft Office 2013 files and TrueCrypt volumes with the hashing algorithm (on some NVIDIA graphics cards the speed increases by several times).
  • Implemented GPU acceleration to enable searching of a 40-bit encryption key for Microsoft Office files on a greater number of AMD cards, which guarantees even faster access to Microsoft Excel/Word 97-2003 files for those who use legacy AMD GPUs (VLIW4/5 architectures)
  • Improved handling of ODF 1.2 format – now it is possible to recover passwords of LibreOffice files with AES-256 encryption and an increased number of hashing iterations
  • Improved support for Microsoft Office 2013 files. Microsoft Excel files with non-standard internal structure are fully-supported now

The free demo version has no restrictions as to the speed of password scanning and offers full-blown range customization functionality. The demo version employs one GPU device in the system and displays only the first two characters of the found password.

GPU Acceleration

  • New executive kernels have been added and all the existing kernels have been optimized to enable implementation of various GPUs. Passcovery specialists have found ways to further optimize internal algorithms and increase the speed of password scanning on all AMD/NVIDIA graphics cards. And that is especially noticeable with the fast GPUs by NVIDIA. Also GPU acceleration is now supported for the following graphics cards: NVIDIA Tesla V100, GeForce RTX 20x0 and AMD Vega.
  • The system performance parameters, including data processing rate, are measured in Passcovery Suite by means of the dedicated performance testing mechanism.

Wide Range of Formats

  • Improved implementation of the SHA-512 algorithm. The new edition of Passcovery Suite demonstrates a perceivable speed-up on AMD/NVIDIA graphics cards when scanning passwords for Microsoft Office 2013 and TrueCrypt volumes using the SHA-512 algorithm. That is the result of a comprehensive improvement in the implementation of SHA-512 algorithm and GPU kernels. Compared to previous editions of Passcovery Suite the speed of processing on certain NVIDIA graphics cards can be several times faster.
  • ODF 1.2 files are now fully-supported. When encrypting password-protected files LibreOffice does not only use Blowfish but also AES-256 encryption algorithm with an increased number of hashing iterations.
  • Advanced handling of Microsoft Office 2013 files. There might be Microsoft Excel 2013 files with a disordered data storage structure. Why that happens has yet to be found. However, Passcovery Suite 3.6 supports and handles such documents.
