1. Definitions
The following terms are used in this Policy:
- Company – Passcovery Co. Ltd., the operator of the Website and the data controller with respect to information collected on the Website
- Website – the websites passcovery.com, passcovery.ru, and passwordrecoverytools.com, owned and operated by the Company
- Visitor – a natural person using the Website
- User – a natural person or legal entity using the Software under the terms of the EULA
- Software – the software distributed by the Company through the Website
- Personal Data – any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person
- EULA – the End-User License Agreement published on the Website and included with the Software distribution package
2. General Provisions
2.1. This Policy sets forth the procedures for the collection, storage, and use of Personal Data of Visitors and Users in connection with the use of the Website and the purchase of Software licenses.
2.2. By using the Website, the Visitor confirms having read and agreed to this Policy.
2.3. The Website is not intended for persons under the age of 16.
2.4. The Company does not engage in automated decision-making or profiling with respect to Visitors or Users.
2.5. With respect to the processing of data of European Union residents, the Company is guided by the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU Regulation 2016/679).
3. Data Collected and Purposes of Processing
3.1. Software Activation Data
Upon License activation, the Company receives and stores the User's email address, a unique hardware configuration identifier (HardwareID), and the registration key.
- Purpose: generation of the activation key, License verification, provision of technical support, including support for licenses purchased previously.
- Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Retention period: for the duration of the License and the subsequent technical support period.
3.2. Mailing List Data
When subscribing to Company news, the Visitor provides an email address. Subscription requires confirmation via link (double opt-in). An unsubscribe option is available in every email.
- Purpose: informing about Software updates and Company news.
- Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Retention period: until the Visitor unsubscribes.
3.3. Support Request Data
When contacting technical support, the Company receives and stores the email address and the content of the correspondence.
- Purpose: processing of inquiries and provision of technical support.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest of the Company (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention period: 5 (five) years from the date the inquiry is closed.
3.4. Transaction Data
Upon completion of a purchase, the Company receives from authorized payment processors a transaction confirmation and the User's email address.
- Purpose: issuance of the activation key, confirmation of purchase.
- Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Retention period: for the duration of the License and the subsequent technical support period.
3.5. Website Visit Data
With the Visitor's consent, anonymized visit data is collected through analytics services. Details are provided in Section 7 of this Policy.
4. Data the Company Does Not Collect
- Payment data – card numbers and other payment details are processed exclusively by authorized payment processors and are not transmitted to the Company
- Software usage data – the Software operates entirely on the User's device; after License activation, no data regarding the Software's operation, processed files, or results is transmitted to the Company's servers
- User profiles – the Website does not provide personal accounts or user profiles
5. Disclosure of Data to Third Parties
5.1. The Company does not disclose Personal Data of Visitors or Users to third parties, except as required by applicable law.
5.2. Payment transactions are processed by authorized payment processors. The Company receives from them only the transaction confirmation and the email address required for issuing the activation key. The processing of payment data is governed by the privacy policies of the respective processors.
5.3. Analytics services used on the Website transmit anonymized visit data to their providers. Details are provided in Section 7 of this Policy.
6. Data Subject Rights
6.1. Visitors and Users are entitled, with respect to their Personal Data processed by the Company, to:
- request access – obtain information about what data is stored and how it is used;
- request rectification – if the data is inaccurate or incomplete;
- request erasure – in cases provided for by applicable law;
- restrict processing – in cases provided for by applicable law;
- withdraw consent – at any time, where processing is based on consent; withdrawal shall not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal;
- lodge a complaint – with the relevant data protection supervisory authority in accordance with applicable law.

6.3. Response time: up to 30 (thirty) calendar days from the date of receipt of the request.
7. Use of Cookies
7.1. General Information
Cookies are small text files stored by the browser on the Visitor's device. Cookies are associated with a specific browser and do not extend to other browsers installed on the same device. They are used to ensure the operability of the Website and to analyze its traffic.
7.2. Types of Cookies Used
Strictly Necessary (Technical) Cookies
Set by the Company to ensure the operability of the Website and to
retain Visitor preferences. These cookies are technically necessary
and are set regardless of consent preferences.
Analytics Cookies
Set with the Visitor's consent by Google Analytics and Yandex
Metrica. Used to collect anonymized traffic statistics for the
purpose of improving the Website. Data is transmitted to the
providers of the respective services and is processed in accordance
with their privacy policies.
Third-Party Embedded Content
On pages containing embedded video content, the loading of video
hosting content (YouTube) and the setting of the corresponding
cookies occur only after the Visitor initiates playback.
7.3. Managing Cookies
The Visitor may change cookie settings at any time through the browser settings. Declining analytics cookies does not restrict access to Website content. When analytics cookies are declined, the scripts of the respective services are not loaded.
8. Data Security
The Company ensures the storage and processing of Personal Data through organizational and technical measures that meet the requirements of applicable law. Data transmission between the Visitor and the Website is conducted over a secure connection (HTTPS).
9. Changes to This Policy
The Company reserves the right to amend this Policy. The current version is published on the Website.
